Pulsar (or PSR B1257+12) presents players with a minimalist gaming experience, where they embody a solitary moon in orbit around one of three distinct planets. The objective is to navigate this celestial dance, aiming to complete as many revolutions around the planet as possible without colliding with it or veering out of orbit.
With each successful orbit completed, the planet ushers in a new moon that mirrors the original trajectory. What adds a layer of challenge is that each subsequent moon moves at an accelerated pace, intensifying the gameplay. The gravitational pull from the planet influences your speed, causing you to accelerate when in close proximity, a phenomenon shared by the other moons as well.
This game was crafted within a swift 48-hour timeframe for the Slavic Game Jam 2018, hosted from July 20-22, 2018, in Warsaw, Poland. The collaborative effort behind Pulsar involved Luke Spierewka (@Spierek), Weronika Grabowska (wrrnk @ FB), Kamila Rusiecka, Elie Abraham (@ElieAbraham64), and Paweł Laskowski (@AlterKot).
